Some secrets protect you. Some get you hunted. What happens when they all come out into the open?
Raphael Corcrel, heir to a business empire he wants no part of, is a demi-fae shapeshifter. In this modern world, the demi-fae are a rarity, with powers that set them apart from both humans and fae. Which often means they are hunted; as weapons, as oddities, as something that should be eradicated. As monsters, half-breeds.
Ever since his father died when he was eleven, Raph has managed to keep his shapeshifting a secret, even from his uncle and mother, who assume he didn't inherit it. He never had anyone teach him to control it, and the last thing he wants is for Animal Control to lock him up or 'release' him into the wild. But when someone his friends know and care about is in danger, and he steps up to help, suddenly it becomes hard to hide many things about himself. And figures from his father's past start to take notice.
Calliope Farrow is attending Sir Robertson University purely on a soccer scholarship. She wants to be a kinesiologist and help people recover from injuries that she herself had to deal with. Her ability to play and study is vital to keeping her scholarship - and essential in staying in her aunt's good graces. But when the headmaster's son himself takes a bad kind of interest in her, she is forced to confront the choices: running from the danger, fighting for her passion, or staying silent and obedient like she always has. And when the danger gets worse, revealing things about her that even she didn't know, her choices don't just concern her scholarship - they will impact her entire life and others around her.
