From a young age, Jon Snow knew he was less than his siblings. The servants treated him with the minimum amount of courtesy under Lady Stark's orders. The constant reminders of his station was too much for the young boy after one very bad day. But with that day came the dream.
The dream gave him the conviction, the drive and the hope to break away from his life as a bastard. To strike it on his own and earn the love and trust of his family. Maybe even be good enough to be knighted or even seen as a hero.
Later on he ran off, as far as he could. Towards the port of White Harbor to catch a ship towards Essos. He'd travel all the seven kingdoms and learn, train and earn a reputation that would outshine his status. Yet not all dreams went according to plan and he was suddenly thrust into a part of the world he knew not existed.
It was years later as he was already a man, that our Hero decided to return to his old homeland, just to explore the lands he never knew growing up. But the Game of Thrones has a way of snatching everything in its path to become either pawns on another's board, or be a player themselves.
Beware, beware. The Dragonborn comes.
