In a land where magic is illegal, the infamous assassin Lyora Font accepts a well paid job to kidnap the Crown Prince Lucan Devrane's pet. When she gets to the palace, she gets spotted by the Crown Prince himself. The marks that reveal her as having magical powers are spreading, but the Prince knows a way to free her from the curse.
