lily believes that lucifer did not rebel against god. She is the first human to figure out that God assigned lucifer the horrid role of ruling the underworld. Understanding and seeing lucifer for who he is, she catches the attention of him and some unsavory characters ready to use her as a get out of jail free card. After being "looked after from below" they finally meet, she doesn't take him seriously at first, but it becomes clear that he is who he says he is. Lucifer may still be an angel but his time in hell as king has made him possessive, protective, and primal. And he's ready to play to keep the gift God has given him.
