Maybe she'd tell me everything I'd been too afraid to admit. But she didn't. She just looked at me waiting. And I did what I always do. I froze. "You're imagining things again..." I said quietly, barely above a whisper. She nodded once, that same small, sad smile flickering across her lips. "Okay." Then she walked past me gentle, careful and disappeared down the hallway.
