The pain will remind us of each other. When we meet later, if there is a later, we will recognise each other by it.
▎AS ABOVE, SO BELOW ╱ Klaus Hargreeves
Jamie Kennedy knows what the future holds: the world is going to end in a week's time. Ever since he was a child, he had been plagued by terrible visions of what would be-what could never be stopped. His dreams brought precognitions, and so he did not dream anymore. His touch caused nightmares, and so he did not touch anymore. And yet, Jamie never told a soul, because who in their right mind would believe the ramblings of a drug-rattled and glove-wearing addict, his wild allegations and crazed preachings?
But somebody did. Klaus Hargreeves could see the dead, perhaps better than he could the living, and so he knew that there was no such thing as the impossible, not after growing up in a home like his. He and Jamie had danced around one another's entrancing orbits before-drunken exchanges with wandering hands-but when Jamie finally told him the truth of what he saw, Klaus did not laugh, did not run. He simply leaned close and replied, "You can see the future; I can see the dead."
Together, they would work to alter the course of the universe, alongside the old faithful Umbrella Academy.
