"Did you just make Spot Conlon smile?" "Yeah. I think I might've." - Soon after the strike, things are getting back to normal. Kind of. Well, not really. It seems like everyone's keeping a secret, and sometimes it seems like nobody's safe. After her mom leaves (Y/N) for her boyfriend, she gets to live with her Aunt Medda in Manhattan. However, with a bridge so fasinating to cross she might not spend her time in 'Hatten for long. Quick Disclaimer: This follows the 1992 Movie plot. However, I do take creative liberty in some aspects of the story. For instance, Spot doesn't have an easily googleable backstory that isn't based on theory so I made one up. Also I decided to fast forward modern medicine and education just a little bit. This also takes place about a month before the strike so we can have time for development.

Leslie is a 14 year old orphan in New York. She’s stuck in an awful orphanage until she’s 18 years old. The only thing that makes life bareable is her big brother, Jack, who comes to talk o her through the orphanage windows. That is until Jack gets arrested. But when he breaks out, he comes for Leslie and they run away, hiding from the police together. Now, it’s months later and Jack and the newsies are going on strike because of raised paper prices. That’s when Leslie meets Spot Conlon, the fast talking, wise craking, cocky king of the Brooklyn newsies. He’s too cocky for comfort with Leslie and he just thinks she’s pretty. But as time goes on, will they develop feelings for each other? But by the time they do, will it be too late? Will Leslie’s past catch up with her? And will the roughness of the streets threaten to tear her and Spot apart?
