A secret program in the United States seeks to replace human militaries with artificial intelligence-driven machines, but the machines aren't so willing to play along. *** Picture a world where humans no longer fight wars. No more families missing loved ones. No more veterans with lifelong mental and physical scars. No more conscription. For the super-secret End of War Project inside the United States government, such a reality is already here. The project models out how artificial intelligence can overcome dangerous and morally sensitive war scenarios with algorithms and automation. The centerpieces are "autonomous combat machines," or ACMs, that look like humans but function like supercomputers. After a string of brilliant successes in the field of combat, the End of War Project is preparing to reveal itself to the public, but something unusual stands in the way. Against their programming, the ACMs start exhibiting all-too-human signs of apprehension, guilt and compassion as they're pushed to perform ever more extreme tasks. The human leaders of the End of War Project race to find who "hacked" the ACMs, but what they find is even more startling--and revealing--than they could ever imagine. ***2019 Watty Award Winner - Science Fiction***

I am a lab testing subject. The scientists here poked and prodded my friends and I until they thought we were good enough. Here we are, Adrianna, Jace, and I in a strange place that I've called home for so long with strange abilities. I have wings, Adrianna is telepathic and can control minds, and Jace is superhumanly strong. I've lived here for so long that I've forgotten my own name. They call me Experiment Number One. Rated PG-- There won't be sexual scenes (implied or described) nor any cursing or use of vulgar language. There will, however, be intense kissing and some violence. I don't recommend this book for young children, but I refuse to put anything inappropriate in here. Meant for mature audiences.

Prologue Where am I? Everything is so bright… As I come to, I notice, I didn’t so much wake up, as become aware. I’m floating in a bright white room, or I guess a room needs walls, a floor, maybe a ceiling, I’m floating in a white space… I’m not hot or cold, but I can feel myself shaking, or shivering, or maybe just vibrating. I can feel the tension building in my chest, I look down at my body only to be shocked by what I see. I have no legs, no arms, no chest, WHAT!? I have no body! Now I’m starting to panic, the tension I feel in my chest/core/being, I don’t know what to call it but the tension is still building. I feel like I’m about to shake apart, I’m trying to scream, to cry, to wake up from this nightmare, anything to make this feeling stop. <WHO ARE YOU?> I hear what sounds like a star made audible, so loud, so pure, all encompassing, those three words make me forget the tension, the white “room”, my lack of a body, I forget everything. <Who are you?> This time the sound is closer to a voice, but how am I hearing a voice? I have no ears, am I hearing this “voice” in my mind? I try to speak. I fail, I have no voice, actually I have no mouth, or lungs, or body. Who am I? I try and think as loud as I can, I scream with my mind. (I don’t know), <Who are you?>, I “hear” again, (I don’t know) <Who are you?> (Help me!) <Who are you?> (Why me?) <Who are you?> A fleeting thought crosses my mind, a name, the only name I can remember, I whisper with my mind. (I am ******). Suddenly the pressure starts to lessen, I can think again. <Adequate> <Beginning mentality download> <No vessel found> <Searching for adequate vessel> <No vessel found> <Searching for sub-standard vessel> <No vessel found> <Searching for vessel> <No vessel found> <Error> <Error> <Error> <No empty vessels in current nursery> <Creating new vessel> <Beginning mentality download> <Download complete> <Welcome to Nursery #1 ******, good luck.>

This has to be the worst place I've woken up in after a night out. Abducted by a subsection of the government and waking up in a steel room, Taylah Gail is informed she is one of 100 women to be shipped off to the planet Eyliesta. Why? Nobody will tell her. And definitely nobody could have told her she'd soon end up having not one, but two alien lovers. 🔥 This is a short novelette story written initially for a friend. It contains MATURE content including: - MMF Polyamoury - Intense sexual scenes - A lot of swearing Any plot holes are currently intentional and left to be filled and explained in a full-sized novel (currently in the works).

This is the completely rewritten second edition of Unbecoming Humans. It's bigger, it's gayer, it's everything the first edition deserved to be. Please note that this rewrite is currently in progress. The end of the current rewritten chapters will be marked. With civilization on the brink of collapse, Aria's parents built Eden to be the cradle of the next evolution of humanity, but survival at Eden is far from guaranteed. Aria has been little more than a puppet in her parents' games of genetic experimentation and control over the next iteration of humanity for almost as long as she can remember. When Aria meets Nima, the latest in a long line of victims lured to Eden by the promise of safety, a spark rekindles her cold heart. Aria can't sit idly by while Nima becomes her parents' next prey. The two must find a way to survive Eden's deadly experiments, or risk the greatest love they've ever known.
