Zombies had claimed the world, leaving cities crumbling and the dead roaming. Only one thing stands in the way of life and death, the scent of flowers. But flowers are now rarer than gold, and the seeds as precious as diamonds. Ivy, the introverted bookworm whos knowledge rooted in books, spent most of her life behind the fragile safety of Asheville, along with Danny and Johnny who are close friends of hers, a village kept alive by the Gardeners (leaders) who bear flower names and the knowledge to keep flowers alive. Although, survival is never certain. To save what remains of the world, Ivy must decide who to trust-and whether hope is worth the price of survival.
