The story is based on a One Shot 'Black Sheep' I wrote for my collection "Because They Belong", which I felt coupd be elaborated into something longer. Set in an alternate Universe where there is no Wen Rouhan, Wei Wuxian is the adopted child of Jiang Fengmian and Yu Ziyuan- a drunkard and a wanderer.
