Mikes been pushing Will away, and Will can tell. Mike suddenly starts feeling weird about Will but he can't out his finger on why. Meanwhile, Will is struggling with this painful neglect while being in love with Mike.

Tension, yearning, real life threatening danger, and slow burn goodness 🔥 Will has been mostly honest about himself to everyone, but he still has one secret. Mike's world is spinning because, for once, he is not oblivious, and he has an idea about who Will's crush might have been, and the dots are finally connecting for him. The story is mostly using canon stuff from the show, but I've changed a lot from season 5 vol 2 from chapter 7 onwards. Will is gay but scared to tell anyone because most people are homophobic. So how will Mike react when Will tells him he's gay. How will everyone else react? I guess we'll see.

The fact that they were supposed to be best friends and now they're all but fucking each other to name one. To name another, the fact that Will is in love with him and is unsure of Mike's feelings, just like he had always been. Another, the fact that he felt like he was taking advantage of Mike's kindness to get his rocks off and find some sleep. There were too many things wrong with this. or Will avoids Hawkins for many reasons, Mike Wheeler being one of them. After a dreaded visit to Hawkins and a week of risky activities, Will retreats to New York to get away, once again. In a twist of fate, Mike becomes his next-door neighbor. In a fit of sleep deprivation, Will asks him for a favor. One that blurs the lines of their relationship, the both of them questioning everything.
