Heather liked dangerous.
"You think this is personal?" Heather asked softly.
"I think you hate being challenged."
Heather's heels clicked once against the marble as he closed the remaining distance between them.
Now they stood close enough for Vivian to catch the subtle scent of cedarwood and expensive perfume.
"On the contrary," Heather murmured. "I'm beginning to enjoy it."
Vivian's breath caught traitorously.
Heather noticed.
Of course he noticed.
The smallest flicker of satisfaction crossed his face.
"You should be careful, Dr. Cooper," Heather continued. "People who stand against me usually lose."
Vivian looked up at him steadily.
