Megatron anhelaba un heredero porque por descuido suyo perdió a su familia que no sabe si está viva o muerta y quiere llenar ese vacío pero es obvio que ninguna femen o portador le darían uno por ser un decepticon ya que mancharian su imagen así que recurrió al otro método... adoptar a un sparkling para unirlo a su chispa y así ser su hijo y príncipe de los decepticons, pero hay un pequeño problema y es que como es no le darán ni un bebé, niño y adolescente donde hace que se desespere más. Pero una tarde viendo las computadoras nota al joven del equipo el explorador Bumblebee el tendría más o menos 117 años perfecto para que sea su hijo y lo secuestra pero se dio cuenta que el era difícil y no quería que lo adoptará. El se intentó acercar al abejorro pero sólo le grita, se aleja y pelea teniéndolo cansado pero eso no impidió que se vinculará con él. Bumblebee no quiere ser el hijo de su enemigo peormente el príncipe decepticon pero eso al mech no le importo porque no quiere un nuevo padre, de hecho ni lo necesita porque tuvo a su madre y su hermano mayor que era como un padre por su sobreproteccion así que no quiere nada de él.
