For most of my life I feel like I've been slumped on an old couch, stuck watching a bad day time television series. One of those shows where you keep watching, even though you're mildly repulsed, because you just can't be bothered to stand up and grab the remote.
At least, that's how things were before I met him. Now I wonder if maybe I wished just a little too hard for some excitement in my life. Maybe I should have been happy with my simple existence.
What's worse, to live a long and dull life, or one that is fast, passionate and from the looks of the gun barrel staring me down, short? I guess my answer won't really matter. I can't change the past, and I highly doubt that I have an immediate future. As the click from the gun's safety disengaging reaches my ears, I can't help the grin that spreads across my face. At least now I can say I've truly lived.
*Jace is a young boy of seventeen, about to start his senior year in high school without much ambition or excitement. Not one to be drawn to any of the usual teen activities, Jace is living his life in boredom, seeing things in grayscale instead of vibrant colour.
With a life that is dreary and dull, a mother who never stops nagging, and a father who is both chronically angry and intolerant, Jace is dying for some purpose in life.
He therefore becomes more than a little curious of the openly gay boy and his family who move in next door. What starts as an awkward friendship with the neighbours soon seems to turn in to something Jace never expected.
What happens though when things get dangerous? Will he be able to be with the person who's given him a reason to live?
