Fifth year begins with a knot in Eilidh's stomach she can't name. School is a place she drifts through - too loud, too bright, too demanding, while she tries to ignore the truth, she doesn't have words for. Something is wrong. With her friendships. With her body. With the way people take and take and call it normal.
Zander arrives already angry. Ripped from the only life he wanted, he's determined to make this new school as miserable as he feels. Until he notices a quiet red-haired girl who doesn't flinch at his attitude. She's the first person who looks at him without expectation. Or fear.
Their connection isn't soft or easy. It's a collision - slow at first, then impossible to stop. But Zander's world has darker corners than Eilidh realises. There are people around him who trade in secrets, power, and things far more dangerous than rumours in a school corridor. And once Eilidh crosses his path, those shadows begin to follow her too.
When the truth of what happened to Eilidh finally surfaces, it's only the beginning. Because some dangers don't come from classmates, they come from the people pulling the strings.
A story about consent, silence, and the terrifying ease with which one girl can slip through the cracks of a world built to exploit her.
