Joong, a runaway merman torn between the sea and the unknown world beyond it, washes up injured on the edge of a desert, where the ocean meets the wild. There, he's discovered by Dunk, a gruff but kindhearted cowboy living a quiet life under the wide, open sky.
Their meeting is strange, funny, and full of tension two souls from vastly different worlds forced into each other's lives. As Joong recovers, he and Dunk begin to grow close, learning to trust one another. Joong finds comfort in the land, in the rhythm of Dunk's days, while Dunk is drawn to the mystery and softness Joong carries like salt in his blood.
Throughout the story, the two face many tests: Joong's fear of the sea's call, Dunk's own buried grief and solitude, and even a violent storm that forces them to confront their deepest fears and desires. Yet through every challenge, their bond deepens from hesitant touches to passionate nights under starlit skies.
By the final chapters, Joong and Dunk are no longer just two strangers who met by fate. They are partners, soulmates, each having chosen the other freely. Joong proposes with a handmade ring crafted from a piece of the ocean that once hurt him turning pain into a promise. Dunk accepts, not just with words, but with tenderness, devotion, and fierce love.
Together, they carve out a life where sea meets sand, where Joong doesn't have to leave the water behind, and Dunk learns to dive into love without fear.
They didn't just find each other, they found home.
