King Aegon III and Queen Jaehaera were married as children to end the war that tore the realm apart. Their marriage was loveless. They are both broken people. They do not talk often. Suite à la Danse des Dragons, chacun tente de se reconstruire à sa manière. Certains fuient la réalité, tandis que d'autres doivent l'affronter. Tout juste couronné roi des Sept Couronnes, le jeune Aegon III doit non seulement faire face à son épouse, mais aussi à l'horreur de l'après-guerre.
