Will and Evalyn are kidnapped to Skandia, where they are separated and sold as slaves. However, this story is a bit different. Erak is already an Oberjarl and has recently established new laws to improve the lives of slaves. Despite this, the village Will ends up in doesn't seem to follow those laws. Will he survive until help arrives? Will help arrive at all? In the kingdom of Araluen, things are also not quite the same as we know them. Based on the 3rd and 4th books by John Flanagan, this is a completely reimagined story. Because why not? I don't own any rights to John Flanagan's novels, nor do I make any profit from them. I simply give free rein to my imagination and write whatever comes to mind, inspired by his works. You'll meet familiar characters from the books here, as well as some I've invented. The same goes for places. As mentioned, the action is set during the events of books 3 and 4 - but with a completely different twist. Enjoy reading. I hope you'll like it :-)

It's time to renew the treaty between Araluen and Skandia. But news from the north has Ranger Commandant Gilan and Queen Cassandra on edge about what might happen at the upcoming meeting. On their journey, they add an unexpected member to their group before sailing to Skandia. But once they arrive, things don't go exactly as planned. Can the treaty be renewed? It's the third installment of Ranger's Apprentice, and the crew is back for another round! (Also, I don't exactly know who all knew about Will's warmweed, so I just had Halt, Horace, Evanlyn, and Alyss know about it).

This is a rangers apprentice fanfiction. A lot of one-shots and unwritten parts were everyone is curious about. When Will and Halt return from Skandia, the young apprentice isn't quite the boy he used to be. Plagued with nightmares of the horrors he had witnessed in the icy land and burdened with memories he's trying desperately to forget, Will finds himself turning to his mentor for help and comfort. Halt, for his part, is doing everything he can to bring the boy back to his cheerful, carefree self. But it isn't always easy. This is a side of the Ranger's Apprentice series that we never got to see. The parts where battles were fought against not armies, but one's own mind. And where winning wasn't always a given. But as Will fights against the darkness, he learns that he isn't alone. He has his friends, and most importantly, he has Halt. And in the grim faced Ranger alone, he finds a mentor, friend and father. Note: This is primarily set between Book 4 and 5 of the series. There will however be random one shots here and there in different timelines that capture various moments, relationships and memories. I welcome requests!
