It was the introduction of the so-called "NerveGear", that allowed people to dive in with full consciousness in a virtual-reality based game. But who would have guessed that the idea to introduce their student's the potential of the Full-Dive along with the future applications of it would have such immense drawbacks that it would result that all student's including the homeroom teacher's to be trapped inside a Death Game. Ayanokoji Kiyotaka was once again trapped, where winning was the fundamental idea to survive the harsh environment he was trapped in.
