If you could use one word to describe Jennifer Kaspbrak it should be paranoid.
𝐉𝐄𝐍𝐍𝐀 is like glass that will break after one wrong step, or at least it is what her mother says. Constantly on pills, carrying an inhaler everywhere, panicking on every moment of her life. Maybe it is necessary, because she's the youngest daughter. Besides, her mother used to tell her how she almost died hit by a car at the age of five every time she was about to do something a bit more risky than ride a bike.
It is how every child in Derry should feel. Maybe even riding a bike can end your life in this haunted city. Everyone can say something is wrong with Derry, but why to do it if everyone can ignore it and act oblivious. No one can stop an evil that people aren't able to see or touch. Then why did a group of kids think they could be heroes?
No one can be a hero in Derry. It is easier to accept your fate and deal with it.
