'Dear citizens, welcome to the most important day of the year, where from today teenagers will once again have the chance to prove themselves in front of the whole country. Like every year, it will be another great spectacle, with blood-curdling games.' Hundred teenagers must compete in a life-and-death contest. Only ten of them will survive. The games they play are gruesome. Nobody is safe. Ash is drawn, and she'll have to participate. But then fate strikes, and her little sister has to go with her. Will she be able to keep them both alive? Or is it impossible to come back unharmed from a deadly contest anyway? This is a rewritten and translated version of Death Game, which was Dutch. Both versions are mine. If you like the Hunger Games and Squid Game, I definitely recommend this story. Part 1 of the Tears series

🥉 3rd Place - Best Ensemble (Starfish Awards 2025) -Stargate meets Percy Jackson in this action-packed Greek Mythology retelling! Humanity's salvation lies not in the future-but in the ancient past. Cursed, forsaken and hunted, Medusa lives in exile, her name whispered in fear. Branded a monster and forced into solitude, she has long abandoned hope of redemption-or connection. She survives, but without purpose. Desperate to save a crumbling world, the U.S. Army's Strategic Recruitment Battalion journeys back in time to 1400 BCE, seeking powerful allies from myths-and finds Medusa, a legend forged in pain and fury. Thrust into a war between gods and mortals, Medusa confronts the fractures within herself: the misery of loneliness, the hunger for meaning, and a yearning for something more than survival. For the first time, she begins to hope-not just for herself, but also for others. But the gods are watching. And one is prepared to destroy everything-past and future-to keep the ancient order intact. As divine wrath collides with modern warfare in a tale of power, identity, and love, Medusa fights to reclaim her story from the hands of fate. New chapters every Saturday at 7:00 AM Pacific!
