The Kingdom of Berona gathers in a grand theater to witness the story of their lost princess and the hope of her return. Long ago, Hiccup and Astrid were married and crowned king and queen. As Astrid neared the birth of their child, she fell gravely ill. Desperate to save her, Hiccup searched for the legendary Sundrop flower, hidden deep in the forests by a mysterious old woman. The flower healed Astrid, and she gave birth to a healthy baby girl with radiant golden hair-Rapunzel.
To celebrate, the kingdom released glowing lanterns into the sky. For a moment, everything was perfect-until the old woman, Gothel, stole the child from the castle. Despite years of searching, the princess was never found. Hidden in a secluded tower, Rapunzel was raised as Gothel's daughter, unaware of her true identity.
Eighteen years later, a thief named Flynn Rider discovers the tower. He strikes a deal with Rapunzel to guide her to the floating lanterns. Along the journey, they grow close. At the lantern festival, Rapunzel begins to uncover the truth. Realizing she is the lost princess, she finally finds her way home.
