As one of the popular Patty Cakes, she is admired for her flawless appearance, social grace and effortless charm. On the surface, Gwen appears confident, flawless, and untouchable - the perfect teenager in a small town. But beneath her neatly pressed skirts, pastel blouses and carefully styled hair lies a deeply anxious, self-conscious girl who worries constantly about her reputation, social standing and the impressions she leaves on others. Gwen's carefully maintained world begins to crack when she witnesses something disturbing in Derry, a subtle but chilling hint of the sinister presence lurking beneath the town's surface. unlike her 'friends' the patty cakes, who laughed it off and ignored the unsettling signs, gwen notices the danger.
