Toothless has always told Hiccup that vikings are cruel, horrible people that kill dragons for the fun of it, and that he should stay as far away from them. But when Hiccup gets caught on a hostile, viking-dwelling island, he doesn't know what to do. The Chief's wife thinks it's unfair to torture a child like this, but when Stoick lays eyes on this boy, he has other plans. Will he and his dragon escape in time? Hiccup and Toothless left Berk thinking no one cared. Being the neglected child of Berk (despite his family, and being the heir to the village), Hiccup decided he'd had enough. He took Toothless and his most treasured belongings and high-tailed it out of there. When he runs into his long-lost mother, life looks up for Hiccup. He's found a place where he belongs. Meanwhile, on Berk, the village assumed Hiccup was dead by a Night Fury's doing and left it at that. Astrid and her friends, however, didn't think such. When a surprise trip overseas and an unfortunate turn of events allows the Berkians to find an odd nest in the middle of nowhere, they may prove that the lost heir to Berk isn't as dead as everyone thinks. //story takes a turn for the worse like halfway through bc i stopped editing it. also i wrote it when i was like 11-12

Takes places soon after the Red Death is demolished by the teens and their dragons and progresses on in time. Things start to happen between Astrid and Hiccup after a day at the cove. On the way back to Berk, they find a stone structure in the middle of the forest, and they find out it's a gate. After an attack, Hiccup is thrown into the portal at the gate. Astrid goes to save him, but can the two get out? Can love provail over the ominous evil that lives inside the gate? Twists and turns in there ;) (I do not own these character. I don't like the way this book went, so sometime in the future I will rewrite. But not yet.
