In many cultures, people portrayed the gods as ruthless beings, far superior to humans, and obviously far more powerful. They had the world at their feet, and almost no one and nothing could ever defeat them. Almost. Often these celestial forces are depicted with a deep hatred in their hearts for humans. But what if the only solution to save their powers, and, at the same time, a piece of them in the Universe, is it to honor these weak beings by giving them their powers? Then maybe humanity has a chance to prove that their weakness is just a label the gods have assumed to be correct.
