(**BEING EDITED**) Maybe it was because of Potter's mess of a hair that caused Severus to hold himself back from messing with it. Or, maybe it was because Potter could walk around with such confidence and cockiness. Suddenly, everything made sense.. Severus always wondered why he would spend hours look and flawing every good and bad things about, not just Potter, but even Black and Lupin. He sometimes thought so he could use it as blackmail. Severus is hated by basically everybody. His home life is no better than his school life. He's abused and bullied. And the only thing that brings him out of the harsh reality is Lily and books.
