"Can you tell me a lie?"
Shadow Milk Cookie's voice cut through the air, laced with its usual mischief, effortlessly pulling Pure Vanilla's attention away.
The ancient healer barely spared him a glance. The 𝘯𝘦𝘸 keeper of the Silver Tree-the one who had sealed all five Beasts, including Shadow Milk himself. The wielder of the Five Soul Jams. The king of the Four Kingdoms.
And yet, even with all those titles, Pure Vanilla just sighed.
Shadow Milk was 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 testing him, always pushing, always prodding. It was 𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨.
So, this time, instead of dismissing him, Pure Vanilla decided to entertain him.
With little warning, he reached out and yanked the floating jester down to his level, effortlessly catching the Beast of Deceit off guard. Shadow Milk barely had time to register the sudden shift before Pure Vanilla's fingers tilted his chin, cupping half of his masked face.
The eye contact was 𝘥𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵. Intense. Too 𝘴𝘰𝘧𝘵. Too 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘦.
And then, in a tone that sent an unnatural chill down his spine, Pure Vanilla murmured,
"I 𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐞 you."
Calm. Even. Completely unwavering.
Shadow Milk Cookie 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘻𝘦. His mind blanked, his usual sharp tongue failing him for the first time. No teasing retort. No sly grin. Just stunned, utter speechlessness.
For once, the Beast of Deceit had no idea if this was truth... or a 𝘭𝘪𝘦.

Shadow Milk asks for a lie, and Pure Vanilla grants his wish-but in a way that directly affects his counterpart's emotions. After all, Pure Vanilla isn't blind to the attachment the deceitful beast has for him, so he might as well use this opportunity to grow closer to Shadow Milk.
And honestly, Shadow Milk is the only beast Pure Vanilla has ever truly wanted to be with... if only Shadow Milk didn't make things so difficult between them.
