After years of nothing, chaos broke in Ninjago City. Citizens have mysteriously gone missing, leaving the ninja in confusion. Weeks passed of this crisis, making the saviors feel useless, not being able to find a lead. Police have scouted the streets day in, day out, and alongside the ninja who traveled in shadows and atop rooftops. Their last adventure seemed to create consequences they never thought would snowball into something big. As a new force arises, the ninja struggle to keep up with the problems caused by their successful mission before, and the trouble being created by yet another villain.

With memories up to the Skybound arc (even though he is from the Twins of Time arc, but he doesn't remember), but no clue how he got back, Kai must walk the line between changing fate and preserving the timeline.
