"Girls like girls like boys do, nothing new." It's Winter 1986 and the Byers and El are visiting Hawkins for one week - but things get messy fast. Max has been keeping her hidden feelings for El secret from all her friends, doubting the possibility that El would ever like her back. But as the week progresses, El catches herself feeling something she can't quite understand, and it becomes clear that El and Max aren't "just friends".

Eleven revisits Hawkins and connects with her old friends. That is until she sees Max again. The best friend. Max feels awful and Eleven tries to help. But Max can't help but feel anger towards her. Because she loved her. But maybe in a different way.

Max Mayfield had a secret. She was in love with a girl. She had fears of people finding out and what would happen to her if her secret was out. Her closest friends may have her back, but that might not be enough.

This story is based on parts of Stranger Things. Please read before you read the story! In this story: It's set in 1986 (season 4) Max Mayfield and her family joined Hawkins this year. Nobody died (yet). Max doesn't know about the upside down and Eleven her powers (yet). Hopper never went to Russia. The family Byers never moved to California. It's based on stranger things, but not exactly the same. There are lot's of made up things in this story so don't compare it to the series. Hope you enjoy the story!
