Have you ever wondered if one of Maegor the Cruel's wives had actually escaped Westeros? Funny enough..one did. Alys Harroway had fallen pregnant and Maegor sent her to Lys in hopes to keep them safe from the bloodstained halls of the Red Keep. Upon his death, Prince Jaehaerys became king at a young age but even in his youth he knew that the son of Maegor and his mother had to be forgotten to Westeros for the sake of his crown. As Westeros forgot, little Maekar grew in the shadows. Maekar grew into a strong young man, adored by peasants and lords of Lys alike. They had called for him to be king of a small and petty coastal city, and through the small force he had gathered he claimed the crown they had forged him. Maekar transformed Lys into a coastal empire, reconstructing the city brick by brick into a miniature Valyria. The commoners never knew hunger, wealth flowed abundantly throughout the lands, and adoration to the new young king grew to no parallel. He had forged something many couldn't dream of by sheer will, and for that Lord Rogarre gave his daughter Aelysia's hand in marriage. The people celebrated the birth of their first child and heir, the Princess Aelora Targaryen. The smallfolk dubbed the little princess the Pearl of Lys. Two years after, her identical twin brothers were born and seen as blessings from the Gods. Whispers of this had reached Jaehaery's ears, unknown to all he had four dragon eggs sent to the little pearl on her tenth nameday to prove Maegor's line was unworthy. For if the eggs didn't hatch, they were no true dragons and no threat to him. How was he to know they would hatch? Ashamed and cautious, he forbade any whispers of Lys in his court..much to Queen Alysanne's protest. He had hoped they would die out in foreign lands, yet..when his eldest daughter Alyssa found maesters reports of Maegor's line, she defied her father to seek the truth. Truth did she find, they were not mad..rather what Targaryens should be.
