Gerard's world suddenly took a sharp turn when he walked in on the love of his life in bed with someone else, and when he stepped through his front door, heartbroken and exhausted from crying the whole way home, who else would be there to comfort him but Frank Iero? Frank is your average punk high schooler who gets himself into a stupid dare in order to fit in and get his bullies off his back, but the shit he got himself into turned out to be a life-changing experience. Read on to see what happens cause I'm obviously shit at descriptions. Warnings: serious case of cringe-attacks at some parts (sorry), smut, strong language, and mild suicidal thoughts around chapter two (nothing too serious, I like to keep my fics happy cause I'm already traumatized enough with gay fics and real life), also a bit of cross-dressing. Gerard Way was addicted to smoking, he was 16, and he found himself thinking about his absent parents. He tried not too, but every morning he was forced to remember that he was abandoned at the age 4, as he woke up in the foster facility with his brother, Mikey. He was so busy making sure Mikey was happy, he forgot to make sure he was happy himself. He knew Mikey deserved a family and parents, but Gerard was seriously fucking selfish. He had nothing left, except the beautiful boy he once met, Frank. He had to save Frank from his broken heart, even though Frank considered Gerard to be the one who needed saving from his own addictions. Gerard's self-destruction was getting out of hand.

Gerard's a mess. He smokes and drinks, and he's a miserable piece of shit. He could never find a job and never had much friends. Though when Mikey called him one day, he offered Gerard a job at the All Boys Christian private school just a few blocks downtown. When he goes to work each week, a student in particular starts getting on his soft side even though their love is illegal. WARNING: there is a lot of mentions of drugs, smoking, alcohol and things of that sort in this story, along with religion and offensive comments about Christianity (and I don't hate the religion FYI) If this triggers you in some way then DO NOT read this story.

Gerard and Mikey have been friends with Ray for years. They hung out all the time until Mikey and Ray started dating. Since then, Gerard has been going to the local bars to pass his time. He really only goes for the local bands and inspiration for upcoming projects of his. Frank Iero is in one the bands Gerard has seen. Gerard finds it intriguing when he watches him play for how he gets lost in the music. Gerard ends up drawing Frank and when Frank finds out, he wants to get to know Gerard as Gerard wants to know him as well. The two end up becoming roommates and tensions run deep but they don't know if the other had the same feelings or if they are just wasting each other's time.

Frank is the new kid at school. He has moved with his mother in an attempt to escape his past, and his father. Gerard is the kid no one talks to. But he likes it that way. He likes being alone, prefers it. When Gerard finds Frank in a less the ideal situation, will all the change? TRIGGER WARNING: self harm, substance abuse, abuse, rape, depression, eating disorder

Rebellious, reckless, and drowning in self-destruction, he doesn't believe in redemption. But Gerard Way does. At 24, he's devoted his life to God, preparing for priesthood while guiding a local youth group. Frank and Gerard are forced to go to camp, bumping into each other at an unfortunate time. Gerard is kind of secretive, though Frank plans to figure him out. As they become friends, Frank has a spark of feelings. Will Gerard return this feeling? (Happy ending)

It's the lake in November, and the move closer to the ocean, and Gerard's fixation, and Gerard's compulsions like tidal waves dragging him down, and Mikey's more distant than ever: like they're drifting out into the middle of the ocean, whereas Gerard's just stuck there: water turning to quicksand around him, drowning. And it's the letter; Frank finds it on the floor of the boys' bathroom on the first floor. It's dropped in accident, perhaps from a pocket or something, and it's drenched in what Frank hopes is tap water, and the words: scrawled in blue ink are difficult to make out as the words join together in a fuzzy inky mess. The only paragraph legible is the final one, and even still, it barely is: 'I've been underwater for a long time now, but I'm not drowning, I'm beginning to think I can breathe like this, but I can't, I'm gasping for breath, and I have to do this, Mikey, I have to end this myself. I'm going to the lake on the 1st of November, don't wait for me... I'm not coming back.' And the name signed at the bottom is little more than a smudged mess of blue ink, and there's nothing Frank can do about it, but he knows for certain that the one thing he can't do is ignore this letter, and he reminds himself of that as he folds it into his pocket. It's a suicide note, Frank's stupid, but not stupid enough to brush over that fact, and whoever this person is, Frank knows that they most certainly don't deserve to die. And Frank isn't going to let them. Because he's going to find this person; he's got time now at least, and he can save them, he will save them - Frank promises himself that. But one person in a whole school, it's like a needle in a haystack, but he's got time, it's November 1st in thirty days, and he can only hope that it will be enough. He's got one month: the date is October 1st.
