1987. Will was still in the upside down. It's been four years and everyone just gave up on looking for him. Except for Mike. He knew Will was still out there somewhere, he just had to keep looking. Will couldn't leave him, he wouldn't. right..? ---- In 1983 Will Byers just vanished. No one knew where he went. Some assumed his brother killed him, others just thought he ran away. That wasn't the case. The Vale of Shadows, aka the Upside Down. Will was fighting monsters at the age of 12. Alone in a cold world that somehow looked like Hawkins, but disgusting, cold and dirty.

after will and mike have an argument, mike goes to hang out with the party, leaving will to go and find other people to hang out with. he finds a group of several people and hangs out with them until he encounters mike again. and mike's not happy. (this is kinda short sorry haha)

Will disappears in the middle of the night, leaving behind a life that has slowly learned how to hurt him quietly. He doesn't run toward answers.
