| Cross posted from Ao3 | What if Giyuu and Shinobu met as children? A moment of Serendipity, a lucky occurrence on the day before Tsutako Tomioka's wedding, has tied the lives of Tomioka Giyuu and Kocho Shinobu, as well as the people around them. As a child Giyuu was enthusiastic, a happy child who loves food just below as to how much he loves his sister, Tsutako. He was kind and open, and that attitude of his made him help out a small girl, crying and lost in an alleyway. Kocho Shinobu accidentally got lost while with her family moments ago, and she accepted Giyuu's help, or as she calls him, "Giyuu-nii" to find her parents. But along the way, she finds herself captivated to this strange boy's smiles, a feeling her young mind could not yet comprehend, but it made her heart warm and made her smile wider herself. But would these smiles last? _______________ Genre: Fluff, Romance, Angst. Disclaimer: I do not own Demon Slayer or any of its characters. All rights reserved to its creator, Koyoharu Gotouge.

In the Taisho era, where demons roam and duty comes before desire, Giyu Tomioka and Shinobu Kocho fight side by side as Hashira-bound by bloodshed, silence, and unspoken understanding. What begins as professional distance slowly turns into something dangerous. Something tender. Between battles and stolen moments beneath blooming wisteria, restraint fractures, and longing takes its place. Content Warning: Violence, mature themes, and explicit lemon content later in the story. 18+ only. Disclaimer: I do not own Demon Slayer / Kimetsu no Yaiba. All characters belong to Koyoharu Gotouge. This is a non-profit fanfiction. I accept criticisms, but please be kind. :)

Demon Slayer: GiyuShino Future AU The war is over. Muzan is gone. For the first time in years, peace settles like dew over the land. Shinobu Kocho didn't perish in the final battle. Neither did Giyu Tomioka, nor the other surviving Hashira. Against all odds, they stood victorious-battered but alive, hearts still beating and dreams no longer deferred by demons or death. Now, in a world where the sun rises without fear, Shinobu and Giyu begin a journey not of war, but of healing. Together, they navigate what it means to live beyond survival-sharing quiet mornings, tentative smiles, and long conversations beneath blooming wisteria trees. Their bond, once forged in battle and silence, begins to bloom into something gentler. Something permanent. The other Slayers are forging their own paths too-rebuilding, reconnecting, and rediscovering happiness in a world they thought they'd never see. But for Shinobu and Giyu, the future holds something deeper: a chance at the kind of love they never thought they deserved. This is not a tale of loss, but of everything that came after.

Tomioka Giyuu once believed that his fate was to survive-to carry the pain of those who had fallen, until one day he himself would vanish as the price of power finally claimed him. When he stood before the divine, he was granted a chance to return to the past: to save the one he loved, to change the destinies of comrades who had been taken too soon by a merciless fate. The condition was placed before him without hesitation. A pale golden thread of fate, flickering like the dying light of a soul sinking ever deeper-one so thoroughly drowned in despair that it no longer possessed the strength to enter the cycle of reincarnation. It was not someone he knew. Nor was it someone he was permitted to ask salvation for. Yet Giyuu still reached out his hand, accepting the bond-accepting that from that moment onward, the destinies of two strangers would no longer pass each other like parallel lines, never meant to meet. The divine witnessed this choice and arranged a single point of intersection: a child who had not yet been born, a life that should have vanished before ever taking form, leaving behind a man destined to live his entire life in solitude. When Giyuu opened his eyes once more, he did not return to the past in the body of a warrior, but within the fragile vessel of a life that had only just begun. He was born into the arms of a man-not the strongest swordsman to have ever existed, but a father who had never been given the chance to hold onto his family. From that moment on, two fates were bound together. No one replaced another. No one inherited another's destiny. But from then on, neither of them would ever have to walk forward alone again.

In an alternate ending where Shinobu survives the final battle, she and Giyu navigate the quiet aftermath of war. This is a story of slow healing, unspoken feelings, and the difficult, often silent, journey of two broken warriors finding solace and building a future together amidst their scars. I do not own the original work or the characters; all rights belong to Koyoharu Gotōge. I only own the plot of this fanfic.
