Gerard Way is the new comer of the high school. He was shy in many cases and didnt want to grab people's attention. Then came Frank Iero. The bad boy of the school. The rebel who haunts your nightmares. Though, who knew that the two polar opposites could like each other but then shatter each other's heart.

Frank is a good, God-fearing Catholic boy, and then Gerard happens. Gerard is the most interesting person he's ever met, arriving in Frank's small town with late nights and illicit booze and odd, disturbing nightmares trailing in his wake, and before long, Frank finds himself questioning the things he thought he knew.

In Italy, the Iero family was part of one of the biggest mafias there ever was. The boss of it all, Frank Iero, Sr., watched over everything and saw to it that every member was loyal. When he's gunned down, his only son is left to take over the "family business", and lead the Italian mafia. Frank is dangerous, but when he meets a young, naive porn star on the way to fame, he hides all the danger that surrounds him and acts like he's as normal as any other person. But how long can Frank keep up the charade?

I was deeply inspired by A Splitting of the Mind, written by shoved2agree. In it, we are told that there was a very dark day in the White House, involving Gerard. We know vague details about it, but we only get some rumors and assumptions on what exactly happened and what was said. We also only hear about it through the retelling of other characters, never from Gerard's point of view. I loved this story so much, I desperately wanted to read what happened that day. So, I did my best to imitate the writing style of A Splitting of the Mind and wrote how I personally think that day played out. ALL credit for my inspiration and the characters used in this goes to shoved2agree! Also, this story will make very little sense if you have not read A Splitting to the Mind, and it also contains MAJOR SPOILERS. Do not read this first!

After another failed attempt lands Gerard in the hospital, Frank and Gerard get closer and closer. I update every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Frank and Gerard each have their own secrets and painful memories that still haunt them every single day. They are both so-called loners, and they usually prefer to keep to themselves, each having their own reasoning. But when Frank moves to Monroeville, he meets Gerard and ignites a spark of hope between the two, hope that they have found someone who is like them, someone who understands them. However, Gerard is unlike Frank in many ways, and he can't let himself get too close with anyone in fear of hurting them. He has a secret, one that everyone at his school jokes about but no one truly believes, and it's one he feels awfully shameful for. He hates himself for it. Frank on the other hand, hates himself because of the infinite list of insecurities forced into his mind by the jerks from his old school. Both of them have issues when it comes to trust, Frank finding it difficult to trust others while Gerard struggles to trust himself. Can they make it as friends (or possibly more than that), despite missing the one fundamental thing in any kind of relationship? Can they make it despite their lack of trust?
