For a hundred years, the Galactic Council celebrated Humanity as a "success story": a once- isolated Deathworld species uplifted into the harmony of interstellar law.
But the fine print kept growing. Treaty addenda became cultural mandates. Cultural mandates became enforcement. Enforcement became ownership.
Then, without warning, Earth transmits a single, immaculately polite missive: Humanity revokes its own membership due to Cultural Irreconcilability.
The Council panics- because the treaties were never meant to be escapable... and because the humans wrote their exit clause a century ago.
