One day, Wemmbu, Flame, Ash, Egg, Red, Parrot, and Wifies were just living normal lives in the city of Riverton-going to school, hanging out with friends, and worrying about everyday problems. Then everything changed. A mysterious virus spreads across the world, turning people into violent, undead creatures. Cities collapse, governments disappear, and nature slowly begins to reclaim the ruins of civilization.

Egg wanted to be useful. He wanted Wemmbu to come back. Maybe if he found the cure for death, he will finally come visit again. He thought if he could find the cure for death, the world would be more peaceful. Wemmbu wouldn't have to go out and throw himself into battles anymore. Egg wouldn't have to worry about his best friend never coming back. He was a fool to even think he had enough time to complete this.
