Twenty-four tributes fight to the death in the Olympian Games, hoping to become the latest Victor in a sport all but rigged from the start. * * * One hundred years ago, a bloody war ended and the nation of Terra rose from the ashes. Comprised of twelve districts and a Capitol filled with the rich and powerful, ordinary citizens struggle while their Olympian District Representatives party with titans of wealth. Each year, twenty-four children aged ten through eighteen are selected to fight to the death in remembrance of the war that brought Terra together. This year, they celebrate their Centenary with an Olympian Games that is sure to remind the Districts of the result of attempted rebellion. District 11's Victor Luke Castellan may still be alive, scarred and shamed as he is, but many are not so lucky due to the uprising he failed to see through. Follow this year's unlucky twenty-four as they go from Reaping to Launch to Games until only one remains, crowned Victor. President Kronos Saturnus expects nothing less than a spectacle for the Ages, but tiring Head Gamemaker Hades Pluton may not be up for it. Luckily, Eris Discordia, his up-and-coming assistant, shares their grand President's taste for blood and death. The Centenary Quell's theme? It is dystopian, no magic fiction that may be unsuitable for some readers in the same way The Hunger Games books were.
