She was resentful at first because the royal family were the ones keeping her and her brother enslaved, but soon she realized that not every royal is all that bad. Princess Gem is so nice to her even after finding out about her wings. When her brother is planning the assassination, of the Princess, she's caught between her best friend and her family.

In this AU there are many plot changes but on of the major ones is that Shelby get's turned first then Pyro. But I am generally trying to keep other peoples turning and some of the events that happen in a similar timeline.
