Somehow, she and Damian became close but after Deathstroke's attack, the league members Tom and Sabine Dupain-Cheng decided to adopt Marinette and take her to Paris. She never saw Damian again. Both Jon and Damian has had a couple of years to discover their feelings for each other. They both question themselves, if they are deserving of each other.
