Heavy. Loaded.
"I'm married," Ishani said, more to herself than to him.
"So am I," Rudra replied instantly.
The words didn't fix anything.
They ruined everything.
"This conversation-" Ishani started.
"-is already happening," he cut in, calm but firm.
"I'm not asking you to do anything, Ishani."
"Then why say all this?" Ishani asked
He stepped closer-not enough to touch, just enough to matter.
"Because someone needs to look at you," he said, voice low,
"and not pretend you're invisible."
My breath shook.
"You make it sound... dangerous."
He held my gaze.
"It is."
A pause.
Then, softer-almost cruel in its honesty:
"But so is living unlived."
My fingers curled into my palm.
"This ends here," Ishani whispered.
"Nope it'll not end till our last breath baby" , Rudra said as he grabbed her waist pulling her closer.
"I know Rudra, but for now let me go before anyone comes" , Ishani said while little panicking her gaze everywhere checking if anyone doesn't catch them.
