It had been a few weeks after Daniel Kon had left the island, and the campers were happily chattering over the sound of rushing water from the waterfall and gentle grumbles from the nearby dinosaurs. In this story, Mae never went with Daniel to Isla Nublar, so she was unable to bring back help from Roxy, Dave, and Brandon. It takes place a few weeks after Daniel Kon, who had been fooled by the campers had left the island.

Ben seems to feel unwanted by the other campers, and since he had missed so much in his absence he feels left out. They have so many inside jokes, cool stories, and they seem to have bonded so much. But Ben hadn't had that much time with them, and he wasn't that close with them. He tried his best to get to know them all but they all treated him like some sort of joke.
