Will byers was a normal kid, well somewhat- besides the fact he was incredibly in love with his best friend Mike Wheeler.. who was too scared to admit anything. - "Oh, come on, Will," Mike snapped, voice cracking. "Don't act like you didn't love the attention. All those letters. All that flirting. You let him-" "Let him?" Will shot back. Heat flared up his spine. "What was I supposed to do, Mike? He wrote me letters! I didn't ask for any of this!" "But you didn't stop him." "You didn't even care!" Will yelled. "You ignored me after the almost-kiss! You pretend it didn't happen!" Mike froze. Will continued, voice trembling, "You push and pull and act jealous and then pretend you aren't. You're hot and cold, Mike! And I'm so tired of trying to figure out what you want!" "What I want?" Mike's voice broke entirely. "Will, you-everyone-every guy in school flirts with you! Jack literally confessed to you! And you say I'm the confusing one?" Will felt tears sting. "You don't get to be jealous," he whispered. "Not when you act like that night meant nothing." - "I was scared too," Will said. "But not of you. I was scared because I didn't want slow." Mike's eyebrows furrowed. "You don't... want slow?" Will hesitated - then finally said the truth he'd been holding back for years. "I want you." Mike made a broken sound. Soft. Disbelieving. His entire face flushed. "But," Will added carefully, "I know everything's been confusing. And we said we'd go slow. I wrapped my arms around him, pulling him into a hug, afraid to let go in case he tried anything again.
