This takes place after Chasing Currents. Read The Way we were first, then chasing currents, and then Here We Are, and lastly My All. The steamy Ibiza fantasy evaporates as Lucas and Max crash-land back in a Hawkins that has become a literal graveyard of their childhood. The "leak" has become a breach, and the Party must reunite to face a resurrected threat that preys on their deepest vulnerabilities. The battle turns psychological as Max is forced back into the "Gray Ward"-a nightmarish hallucination of the hospital trauma and blindness that nearly broke her. To save her, Lucas must bridge the gap between medicine and the supernatural, attempting a synaptic lobotomy on the Hive Mind itself.

Max's life was never easy. Almost a year after Billy's death, she's changed. Or at least, that's what Max has convinced herself. But when spring break arrives, the world is turned upside-down. Literally. With the new threat lurking over Hawkins, Max must face her demons if she is to survive. AKA Max's character study throughout season 4

This is during season 5, in filling in the blanks Of what didn't happen. Who we didn't get a reunion with (Dustin, El, Etc) and just things I imagine happening between scenes. Also gonna write the stuff that DID happen in the show too, just saying what I think their internal monologue would be saying. (Specifically Max's.) First two chapters made before the finale. (Warning) mild swearing and medical equipment being used on Max, non-sexual nudity in a medical/caregiving context.
