His name bore no meaning. He was nothing. Everything he known taken away from him, home, friends-family. This new world was harsh, and unknown compared to his old life, leaving him to navigate on his own. In a new age where, electricity, steel, and advanced medical care are banned for the sake of "Rebirth" promised by their god, Soyara. People wanted to be forgiven for destroying their world, no matter the cost-no matter the lies, while under the rule of royals. The land was divided into three to keep the balance: Chinook, Preme, and Lithrake. A prophecy arose that the scared land, that ruled would threaten to fail with the last heir by the hands of one. This led to Arin's journey to find the "The One." He. Arin promised himself, that he would make them pay. There was no other choice. He will. Note: There is another story of the contrasting side Point of View in the War. Choice which side to read? Who is the hero in your eyes? (Children of Soyara: Joran) or (Children of Soyara: Arin)

I laughed at his stare, "You've wanted this for a long time, haven't you?" His hands met my hips, "Since the day you walked into the estate." He stepped closer, leaving no space between us. Every time I would exhale I would feel his chest against mine. I could feel the warmth spread from him to me. I inhaled the smell the faint scent of salt and cedar on him. My chest tightened, my knees weakened, and I realized I hadn't even blinked in the last few seconds. Everything had narrowed to him and the charged space between us. ~ Felix Montaine rules the city with the look of a politician, but with the deadly power of a kingpin. When he takes over his father's position, the Italian mob threatens to tear the empire apart. Felix does the unthinkable: he hires three assassins to protect both his sister and his empire. Verena Romero is the most dangerous of them all. She's known in the underworld as Vixen. Verena is lethal and emotionally unreachable. She's hired to protect Felix's sister and take down the mob in the meantime, but from the moment she enters his world they fight for control. He's a kingpin with an empire to protect and she's a weapon forged by blood. Every line they cross brings desire closer to disaster. As the mob resurges, other organizations circle Verena, mistaking proximity for power. October 30DC GOLD - Sticker Coming Soon! Rule #1 of lying low at Kingsmore University: Don't flirt with the hockey captain. Don't make eye contact. And definitely don't get into a fake relationship with him. Honestly, just avoid him entirely. Too bad Aaron Varenko doesn't do subtle. And for the record, I don't do relationships. But the moment our eyes locked that first day on campus, the plot twist started writing itself. I was hoping to be a side character, preferably one who stays out of trouble and off-page. Too late. But, when a certain psycho from my past turns up, Aaron makes me an offer I couldn't refuse: "Let him think you're mine and he won't touch you." Totally logical right?🙄 The problem? He's a little too good at pretending. And I'm a little too good at forgetting it's not real. Now the lines are blurring and the secrets I worked so hard to bury are coming back to life. And Aaron might be the only person who can save me...or completely break me.

"𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒓𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒊𝒙 𝒚𝒐𝒖." Anaya Mishra has everything going for her: the looks, the money, the education, the perfect life, according to many. What more could she ask for? Her mother, a well renowned designer in the world of fashion, with her fusion of South Asian and Western culture making its splash in markets, and her father a leading entrepreneur in the tech industry, determined to make tech accessible for all. They're good people and more importantly good parents. Now all she has to do is meet her their expectations. Can't be that hard, right? Well, given that her older brother has far surpassed any expectations they had for him, all she has to do is surpass those. Yet Anaya has next to no clue what she wants to do after A-Levels. She picked what she enjoyed - English Literature, Philosophy, Politics and Sociology - not what makes a good career. And with the added pressure of all that comes with being a Year 13 at Lindenhurst Academy, nothing feels right. Ma's pushing for her to continue ballet, Abba's suggesting politics, Bhai says to do what she wants. But she hates ballet, politics is ruthless and all she really wants to do is write her songs. But she can't do that, not in their world. And then there's Wylan Colbert, the exact antithesis of Anaya in every way. He has the looks (he's been told), and the education since Lindenhurst gave him the scholarship. But that's where the similarities end. He doesn't have time for frivolities like she does. Hobbies are a no, friends are a no, relationships an even bigger no. He has far bigger things to be concerned about - i.e: protecting his younger siblings from their father's vicious beatings. All he wants is some sleep at the end of his days. So, do sparks fly when their worlds collide?
