Nico di Angelo had been shunned by his father, King Hades, for two years after he came out and told him he's gay. Since then, the young boy lived two years as a normal commoner, lying to others about others about whom he really is and where's he's been. Will Solace, son of King Apollo, has live a normal life in the Sun Palace with loving and supporting family. He's never had to worry too much about what his parents thought of him. Two years after Nico was rejected by his father, his older sister, Bianca, comes to him with news. She is getting married to Prince Will Solace and he's been invited back to his home palace to meet his soon to be brother in law. Nico agrees, for the sake of his sisters, to come home. He had allowed his infatuation with Percy to rule his life, his decisions, for far to many years. His wings had grown heavy, and he'd drowned. Icarus had made a mistake. He strayed too far, entranced by the kindness of the light. The dark wouldn't be as welcoming, ushering you in with no hesitancy and crossed arms. That didn't work out so well for Icarus. So, Nico would allow this filter, this light, to cover him, shroud him in kindness, and possibility, and warmth. But he would not cross further. More tattoos are added to it as your soulmate grows and does things that affect their life, this makes it easier for people to tell their soulmate apart from the rest. Nico lives in constant fear. Then Nico meets Will. Will helps Nico, and shows him that his life doesn't have to be a living hell. It takes a while, but slowly, Nico starts to believe him.
