Kazuha is taken to train and become a samurai from a young age. One day a new boy joins that looks nothing like a fighter, a perfect target for young bullies. The only one that doesn't judge by looks is Kazuha. They become close, almost inseparable. The vision hunt decree forces the boy to flee. When they reunite again, it's at the start of a war. Secondly, Kazuha and Scaramouche might be a bit OOC (out of character) here. This is because I'm exploring new roles and themes for them. I hope it doesn't bother anyone or show too much. Thirdly, I took inspiration from BSD Beast, hence the name of the fic being a reference to Osamu Dazai's book No Longer Human, and the whole mafioso thingy. Summary: Kaedehara Kazuha: the boss of a famed criminal organization, the Fatui. Scaramouche: the lead detective working on the case of the mysterious new Fatui leader. Their meeting happens seemingly by chance, at an empty and desolate bar. The friendship that forms afterwards is something tender and intimate. But Kazuha knows more than he lets on, and he isn't who he says he is. (Scaramouche finds that out the hard way.)

Kazuha's calm, introspective personality and love for poetry balanced out Scaramouche's more tempestuous and rebellious nature. Their bond was deep and unbreakable, formed over years of shared secrets, late-night talks, and mutual understanding. However, things changed when they were forced to part ways after high school. Kazuha moved to the city to pursue literature and poetry, while Scaramouche, feeling abandoned and lost, dove into the fast-paced world of tech and business. They lost touch after a fight when Scaramouche accused Kazuha of leaving him behind. This left a bitter taste in both their hearts, but neither could forget the other.
