A few weeks into October, he has progressed to any sort of recovery, still in a silent state. His friends gradually moved on from him. He has been distancing himself from them, and from school. All of a sudden, Yukino Yukinoshita enters his house with a spare key to let him know that she would be engaged to Hayato Hayama. On the outside, it may not looked like it affected him. His emotionless face, the stillness of his body sitting in the chair. But she failed to realize that Hachiman broke even more. Losing his his entire family, and now losing to the one person he hated the most and having known his crush would be with someone else. Having no power to prevent it. He was already at the bottomless pits of hell. October 31st, 2018: a graduation party takes place in Sobu High School. As he stared at the window inside his room, he noticed Komachi's old boyfriend, Taishi, and another person outside the front yard. And after heading the contents of their conversation. Hell decided to return Hachiman Hikigaya back to the living world, with a gift. But it really wasn't a gift. It brought itself to him.

I was going to graduate as a 3rd Year anyway, I doubt I would see more than half of them during adulthood. In the end, they all found out because Haruno managed to get that information out of me. Let's just say... All I did was wanted to not worry them. I mean, is there a reason to be worried that Hachiman Hikigaya has been missing? Yet 2 of my.. acquaintances, worried for me. I failed to even notice that and I paid the price. So I cut all their contact info, I hesitated to delete Yukinoshita's contact number but she had already done the deed first. Being 18, I knew I would have to find a job in a matter of months or else I'll possibly get kicked out. I threw away newspapers that were recruiting young people for small minor jobs like becoming a cashier for a fast food restaurant. Or maybe a newspaper boy and a person who puts stuff in the markets. Then I noticed a brochure that went with the newspaper. 'Become a future U.S. army soldier and help us fight in the War in Afghanistan!' "You're the only person who hasn't changed." After high school graduation, Hachiman, just like reality, and it happens to most groups of friends, stopped seeing his 2 best friends: Yukino, and Yui right after day after graduation. 6 years later: We cut to a 24 year old Hachiman struggling to find work. Having not enough income to pay his rent, he is forced to move back into Chiba with his little sister, Komachi. While Komachi is studying to become a nurse, she multitasks and helps her big brother find a job. Luckily, there was an open slot for a janitor role in a certain company. "No way.." But in order to pursue their career, they would have to find a starter job to pay for their education, tuition, and loans. After many failed interview attempts and getting a job, Hachiman is left wandering to his next interview. But a suspicious man persuades him to deliver items to someone for a quick cash. Hachiman's curiosity was overwhelmingly stronger than his will and he decided to check what the box contained. That was when he was let into a dangerously life-threatening situation. Minutes after experiencing what it feels like to have a gun pointed at your head, he is miraculously saved by multiple anonymous people who seemed to be 'experienced' at their jobs. He was inspired by those people who also risked their lives to save others.
