This story takes place after the events of Book Four and follows Lin and Tenzin's relationship after this period and their rapprochement and effort to try to stay away from each other, but life has other plans.

This story takes place after Ruins of the Empire (HQ) where Tenzin has a conversation with Pema about their relationship and the future. Lin is comfortable in her current life, she's had relationships over the years that didn't work out, but romance isn't on the agenda for her today, right? Tenzin tells Lin about his situation with Pema and hope floods both of their hearts. ... "Thank you, Lin, for everything and forgive me.." he said, already holding his glider in his hands and entering the personal space of the woman next to him. For a moment, his blue-gray eyes jumped from her jade eyes to her lips and back again. She could smell his scent more intensely, she felt his breath close to her, and he brought his hand to her scarred cheek, their gazes met again, causing her to start to lose control. He looked at her lips again and brushed his thumb across her lower lip, sending tremors through Lin's body. ... Will they both take a leap forward in their feelings, or will it take an extra push for both of them to realize what they really want from each other?
