I'm bad at writing blurbs, this is the best that I can write, for now. Lavender flips the pages of his life, as he stares into a clock that ticks even though the needles have ceased. Gazing at a magpie which exists in that clock, Lavender wonders whether he can gain back something stolen by the thieving bird.

It's the real world, but it isn't. Secrets and dangers lurk below the surface - as well as slavers, strange creatures and a shifting wasteland where humans were once gods. You just need to open your eyes to see past the illusion. You just need to wake up. Meet Anna - a 21 year old cardigan-wearing English major - whose world falls apart when she stumbles home slightly drunk and sees a man dissolve into thin air. From there, hijinks ensue - as hot baristas, Hierarchs, slavers and acid rain make sure to severely disrupt the last year of her degree. She's uncovered a dangerous new world - but soon realises that the truest danger is inside her own skin. *** Jake gazed at me with his pale green eyes and reclined backwards onto his elbows. I realised that the metal on his hands continued up his forearms under his long-sleeved shirt. It was as if his skin had been stripped away, revealing nothing but a machine underneath. “You are a Waker. So am I. And we’re in the unworld right now. Welcome.” He grinned at me without any humour. “We’re in the middle of a war, and you and me are the soldiers on the front line.” For a few long moments I couldn’t speak. Then I cleared my throat and said, “You and I.” *** Follow her journals, music and thoughts as she realises that it isn't real. Unfriended. Unfollowed. Untagged. Blocked. Rebooked all flights. This was how we fought. But we're getting ahead of ourselves. Let's go back to the beginning, the very beginning: online.

Do you see images when you hear a melody? Do you hear music when you see a picture? His was one of everlasting silence, hers was one of eternal darkness, then again they are but steps away from each other, standing under the same sky, on the same earth, looking up to the same dream. What does it take for the blind and the deaf to cross the chasm between their worlds? For a deaf artist and a blind musician to come together and find the love they've abandoned? This is a series of short stories of a journey of the two, slowly converging no matter how far apart they are. This is a series of short stories of ironies and cruelties of life. This is a series of short stories of distances, near and far, tangible and intangible.

"When he first heard her, he knew. She was his bestseller." Before there were great stories, there were only words. Luke's were smart and eloquent but hollow. It was nothing like Emma's story, bleak and awkward, but honest to a fault. This is a coming-of-age journey of a writing prodigy in search of a story, his story, and a doe-eyed, homeless storyteller stifled by secrets, her secrets .

By accident rather than design, Trueth - one of the last European witches - finds herself in an ancient Egyptian civilisation. It isn't quite what she has expected - for one thing this place is as full of magic as it is lacking in decent showers. Instead, there is evil lurking just below the surface of the Nile. Together with the friends and family she found in 'Cursed Times - What Now?', Trueth will need to embark on yet another world-saving adventure. One that hopefully does not end in a romantic shipping-wreck. From pyramids, tombs and temples - as well as a palace governed by a randy fourteen-year-old Pharaoh - her journey will ultimately take her to the mists of the North and towards her people. With or without a man at her side. 'Only Yesterday' can be read as standalone adventure novel, or as part of the 'Cursed Times' Series. Warning: In 'Cursed Times - What Now?' all you needed was popcorn. Now you need something stronger - much stronger! === Copyright information, given the recent acts of content piracy: All copyrights of the texts are mine exclusively.
