When a breakup happens, Nicole chooses to lie about being in a new relationship with someone unknown. However, this "someone" suddenly returns, ready to turn her life upside down. Nicole had a wonderful and under control life. Her parents had a more than stable financial situation, she was always surrounded by friends, went to parties frequently and got very high grades. However, during summer vacation, her relationship of almost a year ended. Her friends were very worried, and started doing everything they could to make her forget about this boy. Their attitude may have been noble, but Nicole wasn't ready to start another relationship. In order to not hurt her friends and preserve their feelings, Nic lies about having an affair with the son of one of her father's partners, who was currently studying in Italy, with no expected return. Everything was going well, until Ethan returned to the United States. With the intention of finishing his last semester of high school, he starts going to the same academy as Nicole. As if things couldn't get worse, they are off to a rough start, bickering about the smallest things. Despite that, Nic will try to put their differences aside and ask for a huge favor: for him to pretend to be her boyfriend. And, although both of them begin their fake relationship believing it will be one of the worst experiences ever, they end up surprising themselves when an unexpected event turns everything upside down, making them realize they have way more things in common then they thought...
